The European Election results were not good for Labour across the United Kingdom. However, here in Reddish North (and Reddish South for that matter), voters painted a different picture. In Reddish, as in the rest of the country, UKIP polled a respectable number of votes. Unlike the rest of the country, however, the Labour vote held up and the party 'topped the poll' by a large margin.
It was a thoroughly miserable night for the Conservatives, who may have hoped to benefit from a surge, but who actually polled a poor 3rd. For the Lib Dems it was a complete and utter disaster - coming a distant 5th place!
